Modi’s govt asked to end atrocities on Kashmiris, Sikhs

Brussels, March 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed has said that Narendra Modi’s government in India should stop atrocities on oppressed Kashmiris and the Sikh community. Ali Raza Syed made this demand during the protest of the Sikh community against the Indian government in front of the European Parliament in Brussels, today. It should be noted that the Indian government has started a series of retaliatory actions against the Sikhs in Punjab and so far many Sikhs have been arrested. Sikhs living all over the world have started protests against the cruel behaviour of the Indian government.

In Brussels, the capital of Belgium, the Sikhs’ protest was organized in front of the European Parliament under the title of “Justice for Sikh Rally” in which Sikhs from all over Europe participated. Kashmir Council EU Chairman Ali Raza Syed along with senior officials of the Council and President of World Kashmir Diaspora Alliance Europe Chaudhry Khalid Joshi also participated in the Sikh’s demonstration in Brussels. Ali Raza Syed said that apart from Kashmiris, India also has a cruel attitude towards the minorities living in India, including the Sikh community, and continues to take such ruthless steps day by day, which is a violation of their fundamental rights.

He said due to India’s brutal treatment, the Sikh community is demanding the creation of Khalistan and the Khalistan movement has once again intensified in recent years. Not only Sikhs within India are highlighting this demand, but Sikhs all over the world are raising their voices in favour of this demand, he maintained. In the Brussels’ Justice for Sikh Rally, the delegation of Kashmir Council EU expressed its solidarity with the Sikh community by participating with the banner of Free Kashmir. Chaudhry Khalid Joshi speaking on the occasion said just as the oppressed Kashmiris are struggling for their right to self-determination, the minority communities of India, including the Sikhs, are also tired of Indian atrocities and want freedom from India.

He called upon the international community to stop Indian atrocities on Kashmiris, Sikhs and other minorities and play its role in restoring their fundamental rights. He particularly emphasized on the effective role of the major powers for the just solution of the Kashmir issue and the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
