Srinagar, March 16, 2022 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the President of Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti has lashed out at the Narendra Modi-led Indian government for weaponizing pain of the Kashmiri Pandits to spread venom against the Muslim community across India.

Mehbooba Mufti, in a tweet, today, said that the aggressive manner in which the Indian government was promoting ‘The Kashmir Files’ film and weaponising the pain of Kashmiri Pandits makes its ill intention obvious. The PDP chief said that instead of healing old wounds and creating a conducive atmosphere between the two communities, New Delhi was deliberately tearing them apart.

The Kashmir Files released recently in cinemas across India has become controversial for wrongly blaming Kashmiri Muslims for the exodus of Pandits from the valley in the 1990s. Its director Vivek Agnihotri is considered close to BJP and the film has been declared tax-free in the Indian states ruled by the saffron party.
