Srinagar, September 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi-led fascist government has turned the Kashmir valley, particularly Srinagar and adjoining areas into ‘Guantanamo Bay, in a bid to prevent people from attending the funeral of the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani.

The occupation authorities forced the family of Syed Ali Gilani to bury him in a grave near his house in Hyderpora in the wee hours on Thursday. Only a small number of people including family members, close relatives and neighbours were allowed to attend the funeral of the martyred leader.

Millions of residents of the Kashmir Valley woke up to a strict curfew and communication blackout on Thursday.

Thousands of additional Indian troops and police personnel were deployed overnight in Srinagar and other areas of the Kashmir Valley to bar a sea of people from thronging the Hyderpora residence of the martyred leader, who died on Wednesday night during continued house arrest.

Observers say that it would have been the largest funeral gathering of Jammu and Kashmir had India not forced people to stay indoors at gunpoint.
