Srinagar, July 29, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Narendra Modi-led Indian government is targeting the freedom-loving Kashmiris for challenging India’s illegal occupation of their motherland and is not sparing even the dead ones. This is evident from a charge-sheet filed by the Delhi-controlled State Investigation Agency against two members of Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Salam Dagga and Muhammad Shafi Dar in a fake case registered against them to victimize them for their affiliation with the freedom movement. The SIA filed the charge-sheet before a special court in Srinagar against Muhammad Shafi Dar, who died sometime back. The motive behind the action is to intimidate the other Kashmiris. The dreaded probe agency has also identified 188 properties, which were either in possession or registered in the name of JI in the occupied territory. It said that of these properties, 58 have been attached.
Hundreds of members of Gujjar-Bakerwal community held a strong demonstration in Jammu city to protest the biased policies of the Indian government directed against them. The occupation authorities deployed a strong posse of Indian police to prevent the protesters from blocking Tawi Bridge. However, the angry protestors staged a sit-in on the bridge to express their anger against the Indian government’s recent move to grant Schedule Tribe status to upper-caste Paharis in the Jammu region.
Meanwhile, Yaum-e-Ashur, the 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram, was observed in IIOJK with due solemnity to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions in Karbala. People took out mourning processions in Srinagar and other areas of the occupied territory. Senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, in a statement issued in Srinagar paying glowing tribute to the martyrs of Karbala said that the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) showed that truth was always victorious. Tehreek Wahdat-e-Islami, a constituent of the APHC, in a statement in Srinagar said the Indian tyranny has made life difficult for the Muslims in occupied Kashmir for challenging the Yazid of the time and demanding the right to live with freedom.
On the other hand, a report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, maintained that Modi-led fascist Indian government has turned occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a present-day Karbala. It said Modi is the Yazid of the time and India is modern Yazidi regime for the Kashmiris. The APHC-AJK chapter Convener, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement issued in Islamabad urged the international community to take cognizance of Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir and play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and Kashmiris’ aspirations.
