Srinagar, October 05, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government as part of its attempts to suppress the voice of the people of Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for their UN-acknowledged right to self-determination has banned the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP, headed by incarcerated senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah.

The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification, today (Thursday), declaring the DFP as an unlawful association with immediate effect. The notification stated that the DFP was formed in 1998 by Shabbir Ahmad Shah, a prominent Hurriyat leader known for his anti-India and pro-Pakistan stance. Shabbir Shah has always maintained that Kashmir is a UN-recognized disputed territory and ruled out its any settlement within the framework of the Indian constitution.

The notification said the members of DFP have been at the forefront of pro-freedom activities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and want to liberate Kashmir from India. It said the activities of DFP show sheer disrespect towards the Indian rule over Jammu and Kashmir. The party and its members, especially Shabbir Shah, have been involved in anti-India activities, it said. The notification said the Indian government has declared the DFP an unlawful association for a period of five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
