Modi Government and RAW Accused of Targeting Sikhs Globally

Islamabad, Reports have emerged indicating that Sikhs around the world are facing increased discrimination and threats, particularly from India’s intelligence agency, RAW, since Narendra Modi took office in 2014. This campaign is said to extend beyond India’s borders, affecting Sikh communities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other countries.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Modi administration, with the alleged involvement of RAW, has initiated covert operations against Sikh diaspora members who express anti-India sentiments or support for the Khalistan movement. Incidents such as the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada and the foiled plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in the United States have been cited as evidence of these targeted actions.

The participation of Sikhs in the Khalistan Referendum, a movement seeking a separate Sikh homeland, which has seen significant turnout in various cities globally, has reportedly alarmed the Indian government. This has led to the identification and targeting of key figures within the Sikh diaspora, suggesting a systematic approach to silencing or eliminating opposition.

These actions have drawn comparisons to tactics employed by Israel against its critics abroad, with accusations that the Indian government’s operations violate international law, including the principle of state sovereignty as outlined by the United Nations. The report criticizes the Modi regime for adopting such measures, claiming they pose a threat to both regional and global stability.

The international community is being called upon to recognize the severity of the situation, with assertions that under Modi’s leadership, India is engaging in state-sponsored terrorism. There is a growing demand for international intervention to prevent further harm to the Sikh community and to address what is described as rogue behavior by the Indian state.
