Islamabad: The current Indian administration, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is facing serious accusations of converting Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) into what is described as the world’s largest open-air prison.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a new report claims that with over one million Indian troops stationed in the region, Kashmir has become the most militarized area in the world. The report harshly criticizes the Indian government for allegedly stripping away basic human rights, including the right to life, within the occupied territory. It documents a series of abuses including the killing, torturing, and frequent arrest of Kashmiri residents by Indian forces.
The document also references historical grievances, noting that in the past 35 years, 96,347 Kashmiris have been killed by Indian forces. The situation has reportedly worsened under Modi’s leadership, with the report accusing his government of escalating brutalities to unprecedented levels.
The report makes a poignant call to the international community, urging global intervention to prevent further atrocities committed by what it labels as a “fascist” regime under Modi. It stresses the urgent need for international support to help the besieged Kashmiri population.
