Mob sets Christian books, pamphlets on fire in Karnataka

Kolar, December 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): A group of locals set books and pamphlets on fire claiming that they were being used for ‘religious conversion’. According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place at Srinivas Pur in Karnataka. A mob accused four people of “propagating Christianity” at a house here, entered into an argument with them, and set fire to pamphlets and books.

The incident comes as the BJP government considers tabling an anti-conversion Bill in the winter session of the state legislature that began on Monday. Christian community leaders have vehemently opposed the proposed bill.
