MNA Ms. Farah Naz Akbar Focuses on Educational Upgrades During Rural Islamabad School Visits

Islamabad: In a concerted effort to elevate educational standards in rural areas, Ms. Farah Naz Akbar, Member of the National Assembly, toured four schools in Bharakau and Nilore alongside top officials from the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and the Federal Directorate of Education. The visit aimed to appraise the current state of these institutions and push forward government-led initiatives designed to enhance learning conditions for students.

According to Press Information Department, the delegation, which included the Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education, the Director of Planning and Development, the Director of Schools, and the Project Director of the Project Management Unit, inspected IMSB (VI-X) Rawal Dam, IMCB Chak Shehzad, IMSB (I-VIII) Chatta Bakhtawar, and IMSB (VI-X) Jhang Syedan. They noted urgent renovation needs exacerbated by recent heavy rains and emphasized the government’s dedication to swiftly resolve these issues to avoid educational interruptions.

During the inspections, it was found that while overall cleanliness was up to mark, specific improvements were necessary, particularly at IMSB (VI-X) Jhang Syedan. The visit highlighted several pivotal initiatives by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, such as enhancing access to essential facilities like clean drinking water, functional toilets, secure boundary walls, and playgrounds. The delegation also discussed the establishment of IT labs in these rural schools, aiming to bridge the digital divide and foster digital literacy among students in less-developed areas.

Further, the officials underscored the new policy for monitoring teacher attendance, requiring daily reports to ensure consistent and quality educational delivery. Area Education Officers are now mandated to conduct weekly school visits to oversee the implementation of government directives and offer necessary support.

Ms. Akbar’s visit not only reiterated the government’s resolution to improve educational facilities in rural Islamabad but also set the stage for future enhancements, including maintaining cleanliness, speeding up necessary renovations, and implementing IT education, thereby moving towards educational equity between rural and urban sectors.
