Srinagar, April 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the leading members of Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) have expressed concern over severe difficulties being faced by people in the holy month of Ramadan due to unscheduled and frequent power cuts, especially during Sehri and Iftar times, and also water scarcity in several areas.
The MMU in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that in the past the authorities tried to facilitate the people during Ramadan, but the harrowing experiences that are unfolding in this holy month are painful and worrying.
They said the power supply is being cut off, especially during Sehri and Iftar times, causing immense trouble to the people. “In this regard, the people are not only deeply saddened and angry, but they also feel that the authorities have no concern for the well-being and comfort of the people and their priorities are somewhere else.”
The MMU stressed on ensuring uninterrupted supply of electricity and water and said providing basic facilities to the people is the primary responsibility of the authorities, which should be fulfilled.
