Srinagar, The Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama Jammu and Kashmir (MMU) has condemned the registration of a case against its member and prominent religious leader Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al-Safavi. The case accuses Agha Moosvi of spreading religious animosity, a charge that the MMU vehemently refutes.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the MMU issued a statement in Srinagar asserting that Agha Moosvi has consistently worked towards fostering sectarian unity and communal harmony in the region. The organization highlighted Moosvi’s significant role in maintaining peace and promoting mutual brotherhood, particularly following an incident in the Sumbal area.
The MMU described the charge against Agha Moosvi as baseless and devoid of any merit. The organization called for the immediate withdrawal of the case, arguing that there is no justification for such an action against a religious leader dedicated to peace and communal harmony.
This incident highlights the ongoing tensions and complexities in the region, particularly concerning religious and community leaders.
