Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Urges Immediate Aid for Victims of Fires in Kishtwar and Bandipora

Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, has expressed deep concern for the victims of two severe fire incidents in Kishtwar and Bandipora districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The fires caused extensive damage, destroying nearly 100 residential structures, a Jamia Masjid in Kishtwar, and impacting a market and multiple homes in Bandipora.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the fire in the Malwar Warwan area of Kishtwar obliterated many homes and a significant religious site, while the flames in the Tulail area of Bandipora consumed a busy market and residential units. Mirwaiz’s statements highlighted the substantial financial losses, which total millions of rupees, and his call for local philanthropists and aid organizations to urgently assist in the rehabilitation efforts needed for the affected communities. With the harsh winter season approaching, the need for support is described as critical for the survival and recovery of the impoverished and vulnerable populations in these areas.

Mirwaiz also conveyed his profound empathy towards those suffering from the devastation, describing the rapid loss of homes as both distressing and deeply impacting the community’s spirit. He offered prayers for the resilience and strength of the affected individuals, with hopes for a swift rebuilding of their lives and homes.
