Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a senior leader within the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the head of the Awami Majlis-e-Amal, has extended his condolences following the deaths of two prominent figures, Khawaja Ghulam Mustafa Drabu and journalist Naseer Ahmad Wani.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed his sorrow over the passing of Khawaja Ghulam Mustafa Drabu, a notable member of the organization. Mirwaiz paid tribute to Drabu, highlighting his ethical character and sociable nature, and offered prayers for his forgiveness. He also conveyed his sympathies to Drabu’s family.
In addition, Mirwaiz expressed grief over the death of Naseer Ahmad Wani, a renowned journalist and former Bureau Chief of Zee News. He commended Wani’s commitment to justice in journalism and acknowledged his contributions to the field.
Following these losses, Mirwaiz directed a high-level delegation from the organization to visit the homes of the deceased in Ram Bagh and Qamarabad, Bemina. The delegation, which included Haji Altaf Ahmad Butt, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Advocate Yasir Ahmad, Pir Ghulam Nabi, and Mohammad Yousuf Butt, attended prayer ceremonies and conveyed Mirwaiz’s messages of condolence.
