Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Condemns Arrest of Kashmiri Bar Association Chairman

Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, has publicly denounced the recent nocturnal arrest of Nazir Ahmed Ronga, the Chairman of the High Court Bar Association of Srinagar, under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ronga, described as a close associate of the late Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq, was taken from his home and subsequently detained at Kotbhalwal Jail. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq voiced deep concern over the use of the PSA, viewing it as part of a broader strategy to instill fear and suppress dissent in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Additionally, the Darul Khair Mirwaiz Manzil, led by Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, responded to a recent fire incident in Srinagar by providing aid to affected families, continuing their commitment to support community members during crises.
