Srinagar, Senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA) by lauding his life as a beacon of wisdom, justice, bravery, and spiritual excellence. Mirwaiz’s tribute stressed the importance of unity and harmony, drawing on the profound legacy of Hazrat Ali (RA) as a guiding light for both Islam and humanity.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a function held at Sarai Bala Lal Chowk in Srinagar to mark the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali, Mirwaiz reflected on Hazrat Ali’s life, noting his unique position as the first to embrace Islam and his upbringing in close proximity to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Hazrat Ali’s contributions to Islam and his dedication to the welfare of humanity were highlighted as exemplary.
Mirwaiz pointed to the wisdom encapsulated in Hazrat Ali’s sermons, compiled in the “Nahjul Balagha,” as a testament to his intellectual depth and understanding across various domains of knowledge.
In his message, Mirwaiz emphasized the critical need to safeguard Kashmir’s traditional harmony from divisive forces and advocated for the promotion of inter-religious unity over sectarian divides. He underscored the role of religious institutions in fostering a sense of communal solidarity and questioned the rationale behind sectarian discord within the Muslim community.
Echoing the teachings of revered saints, Mirwaiz underscored the importance of maintaining unity within the ummah, likening it to the cohesion of beads on a rosary. He condemned the actions of those fostering division on sectarian lines as contrary to the core principles of Islam.
