Srinagar: Molvi Nisar Ahmad, a distinguished member of the prominent Mirwaiz family and son of Molvi Muhammad Shah from Brein Nishat, Srinagar, has passed away following a prolonged illness.
According to Kashmir Media Service announcement issued on 16 August 2024, Molvi Nisar was not only known for his contributions as an electrical engineer but also for his familial ties as the grandson of Moulvi Rasool Shah Sahib (RA) and nephew of Muhajir-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Yusuf Shah (RA). His death marks a significant loss within the Kashmiri community and his esteemed family.
The funeral prayers were led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, and took place in Brein Nishat. Following the prayers, Molvi Nisar Ahmad was interred in his family’s ancestral graveyard.
The Mirwaiz family has announced a three-day mourning period. A prayer session is scheduled at the deceased’s ancestral home near Water Works Road on Sunday at 11 am, although there will be no formal condolence gathering at the graveyard.
In a statement, Mirwaiz Manzil expressed profound sorrow over Molvi Nisar’s demise, recognizing it as a great loss to the family and community, and offered prayers for his eternal peace.
