Srinagar, October 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has expressed shock and grief over the custodial death of APHC leader, Altaf Ahmad Shah. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said Altaf Ahmad Shah was suffering from cancer and despite repeated appeals from his family for bail due to his critical health condition, he was denied the same.
He articulated grave concern over the plight of the Kashmiri prisoners who have been languishing in various jails in India including Tihar for years. He said that due to lack of proper medical facilities in prisons the ailing detainees’ life is always at a risk. He urged the Indian government and human rights organizations to ensure that better facilities including medical care is provided to the Kashmiri detainees. The Mirwaiz expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, especially his wife and children, and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in Jannat-ul-Firdous and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with patience.
