Mirwaiz Calls for Immediate Action Amid Rising Attacks on Kashmiris in India

Srinagar: In the region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, there is growing alarm over attacks on Kashmiri students and traders across India. Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has voiced serious concerns, urging authorities to take immediate action.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement on the social platform “X,” highlighted the disturbing nature of recent videos showing assaults on Kashmiris, particularly students, following the Pahalgam incident. He described these developments as deeply troubling.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference, alongside other organizations, has condemned the attacks and harassment faced by Kashmiri students and the trading community. These incidents have escalated tensions and have been widely criticized.

An APHC spokesperson, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, and groups such as the Jammu and Kashmir Students and Youth Forum (JKSYF) have issued strong statements against the targeting of Kashmiris in various Indian states. They have called on Indian civil society organizations to address the issue and demand an end to the violence.

Additionally, these organizations have appealed to the United Nations Secretary General to take notice of the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They urge the UN to facilitate a resolution to the Kashmir dispute in line with Security Council resolutions, reflecting the deep concerns within the region.
