New Delhi: All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq convened with Maulana Syed Mahmood Madani, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, in New Delhi to discuss apprehensions concerning the Waqf Amendment Bill.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz was joined by Maulana Rahmatullah Mir Qasmi, an Islamic scholar and head of Darul Uloom Rahimiya Bandipora. Discussions centered around the possible consequences of the Waqf Amendment Bill, focusing on its implications for the autonomy and governance of Waqf properties.
The leaders underscored the necessity of safeguarding the rights and interests of Waqf institutions and the Muslim community. Mirwaiz also informed Maulana Madani about the latest developments in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s presence in Delhi includes scheduled meetings with other significant Indian religious and political figures. These discussions aim to address Muslim community concerns regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill and to provide updates on the situation in IIOJK.
