Mirpur Hosts Conference to Honor Martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir


Mirpur: The city of Mirpur in Azad Jammu and Kashmir recently served as the venue for the ‘Shuhada-e-Jammu Pir Panjal Conference’, an event dedicated to commemorating the martyrs from the Jammu and Kashmir regions. Organized by the Pir Panjal Freedom Movement and the Muhajireen Ittehad Forum, the conference gathered both refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir and local residents to honor their sacrifices.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Qazi Imran, Vice Chairman of the Pir Panjal Freedom Movement, chaired the event, with Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, as the chief guest. Safi highlighted the enduring legacy of the martyrs, asserting that their sacrifices are pivotal to the Kashmiri struggle for freedom and will not be forgotten.



The speakers, including prominent local leaders and activists, voiced a unified call for liberation from Indian control, underscoring the ongoing resistance efforts and the high stakes involved in their quest for self-determination. The conference not only served as a remembrance for those lost but also as a reaffirmation of the Kashmiri commitment to continue their struggle for autonomy.
