Mirpur Event Calls on International Community to Support Kashmiri Self-Determination Rights

Mirpur, An event in Mirpur has brought together speakers who strongly appealed to the international community to support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. This call comes amidst longstanding disputes and tensions in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) to observe India’s Republic Day as a Black Day. Chaired by JKSDMI founder Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain, the event featured Mehboob Ahmed, Advisor to the British Deputy Prime Minister, as a special guest.

Speakers at the event criticized India for denying the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination for over seven decades. They labeled India’s Republic Day as a black day for the people of occupied Kashmir, associating it with increased sufferings and oppression. The speakers emphasized that despite the brutalities faced, the Kashmiri people remain undeterred in their quest for freedom.

Raja Najabat Hussain highlighted the significant sacrifices made by Kashmiris in their struggle over the past seven decades, expressing confidence that these would not be in vain and that freedom is imminent. He also mentioned the active role of the Kashmiri diaspora in bringing international attention to the atrocities occurring in occupied Kashmir.

The event saw participation from various dignitaries, including Chairman District Council Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga, Smile Red Charity UK Head Chaudhry Shehbaz Sarwar, and several others. The gathering also paid homage to Kashmiri martyrs, remembering their sacrifices in the ongoing struggle.

The call for international intervention underscores the continued urgency and complexity of the Kashmir issue, a long-standing dispute involving rights, regional stability, and international diplomacy.
