Islamabad, September 27, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Caretaker Federal Minister for Human Rights, Khalil George, has said that Pakistan is far better than India for securing minorities’ rights as India’s religious minority communities are under attack and state is directly involved in human right violations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Khalil George talking to PTV news channel said that the rights of minority communities were fully protected in Pakistan and several measures had been taken for their welfare. He maintained that Pakistan always protected the rights of people from all minorities, including Christians, Sikhs, Hindus and Parsis, and would ensure a secure environment for them in future as well.
The Minister said Pakistan will move forward according to the teachings of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal, who called for peace and brotherhood among all religions.
To a question, he pointed out that the Indian government had proven itself unwilling to protect the religious minority communities and other vulnerable groups from frequent attack. The Modi regime was promoting the Hindutva ideology to harassed Muslims and other minorities, he added.
Khalil George urged the UN to take practical steps and impress upon the Indian government to ensure the protection of the rights of the minorities.
