Minor beheaded, chopped into pieces as part of a ‘human sacrifice’ ritual in India

New Delhi, January 12, 2023 (PPI-OT):In yet another incident of extreme brutality in India, a nine-year-old boy was kidnapped, beheaded and chopped into pieces as part of a ‘human sacrifice’ ritual. The incident took place in Union Territory of Dadra Nagar Haveli in which the minor was brutally killed in the hope of receiving divine money.

Police said that headless body of a boy belonging to a tribal community was found in the Damaging canal near Vapi town in Valsad district of neighbouring Gujarat state. The police said that the boy had gone missing on December 29 last year from Sayali village in the Union Territory’s Dadra and Nagar Haveli district, following which a kidnapping case was registered at Silvassa police station on December 30.

As per police several teams were constituted to trace the boy, but a headless body matching his description was found in Vapi. While the body was found in a canal, parts of the body were found in Sayali village, where the rituals were performed. Last week, the police had arrested three persons including a teenage boy in the case. It said, during the investigation, the boy disclosed that he had kidnapped the victim from Sayli village on December 29.

According to the police, the detained boy told that the minor was sacrificed in the hope of receiving money as a result of tantra mantra. He said that his friend Shailesh Kohkera (28) had helped him in killing the victim. One Ramesh Sanwar was also a part of the conspiracy. Subsequently, Kohkera and Sanwar were traced and arrested on 3 January.

Meanwhile, the body parts of the boy have been sent for forensic examination. A similar terrible incident occurred in the Indian state of West Bengal last October when a youth had killed a 9-year-old girl as a ‘human sacrifice’ to learn tantra mantra. The incident took place in Gaurhand area of Malda district.
