Ministry of human rights signs a letter of agreement with Islamic relief Pakistan to further the cooperation for child rights protection 

Islamabad, February 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Ministry of Human Rights signed a Letter of Agreement with Islamic Relief Pakistan today at ministry’s Child Protection Institute at Hummak Town, Islamabad. This LoA has been signed to advance the partnership between two parties for protection of fundamental rights of children and women. Secretary Ministry of Human Rights and Country Director, Islamic Relief Pakistan both signed and exchanged the documents.

Islamic Relief Pakistan is carrying out interventions with the focus on children at high risk of abuse, neglect and exploitation. The signing of LoA with Ministry of Human Rights will facilitate Child Protection Institute for completion of certification process and other promotional activities. Technical support will be provided by IRP to ministry for mapping of child care institutions and for further establishment of other resource centers.

While addressing the audience, Federal Minister for Human Rights thanked the IRP for signing this agreement and lauded their efforts for social welfare. She said that ministry would carry on its cooperation with IRP and other such organizations that have credible commitments for the protection of rights of children, women and vulnerable segments of society. She added that ministry would establish many other such institutes in Islamabad on the model of CPI especially a center for female children will be made running till the end of this year.

She further said that Police is handing over children to CPI that are recovered from all four provinces and other regions of country. The center is providing shelter as well as health, education, reunification, referral services and psychological treatment facilities to these children that are at greater risk of exploitation. Minster also inaugurated the playground of Child Protection Institute that is recently been renovated with the support of IRP under their project of Protection of Children at risk.
