Minister’s Complaint Cell Launched to Enhance Maritime Services

Karachi: A Minister’s Complaint Cell has been introduced as part of a comprehensive reform agenda aimed at promoting transparency and ensuring faster public service delivery within the maritime sector. The initiative, aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, was launched by the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, on Saturday.

At the inauguration, Chaudhry emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering open communication between institutions and the public. He described the complaint cell as a platform that will connect the ministry with various stakeholders, including citizens, seafarers, port users, and investors.

The cell will allow individuals to lodge complaints, highlight issues, or provide suggestions related to maritime operations, port management, shipping policies, and other relevant areas. The feedback collected is expected to aid in refining policies, improving services, and resolving concerns promptly.

Chaudhry stated that the initiative seeks to bolster transparency, accountability, and stakeholder engagement in maritime governance. The complaint cell will be accessible online through the ministry’s website, as well as via email and phone, with a dedicated team ensuring timely responses and follow-ups.

The Federal Minister highlighted that this development marks a milestone in the ministry’s efforts to modernize the maritime sector, making it more efficient, people-centric, and responsive.
