Islamabad: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, addressed the National Assembly today, focusing on improvements in services for overseas Pakistanis and affirming commitment to provincial development.
Dr. Tariq highlighted the importance of national integrity in elevating the respect of the Pakistani passport, asserting that true prestige stems from internal progress rather than superficial changes. He criticized foreign resolutions undermining the country’s image and emphasized recent enhancements in the passport’s international standing.
The Minister acknowledged historical flaws in the passport issuance system, citing the incorrect distribution of passports to non-citizens, including Afghan nationals. In response, all embassies and consulates have been tasked with enhancing their services for expatriate Pakistanis.
Dr. Tariq advocated for political unity, referencing alliances with the Pakistan Peoples Party and MQM, and encouraged resolving differences through dialogue within the Assembly rather than confrontation.
On infrastructure, he reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding the motorway network, highlighting it as a longstanding priority of the PML-N administration.
He also announced that Balochistan has received Rs. 100 billion in electricity price relief, underscoring the government’s dedication to equitable progress across all provinces.
In closing, Dr. Tariq reaffirmed the government’s inclusive policy framework, emphasizing a commitment to collective advancement and non-discrimination against any province or individual.
