Minister Underscores National Unity Amidst Regional Tensions At Independence Day Event


Islamabad: Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi emphasized national unity and the preservation of cultural heritage amidst recent Pakistan-India tensions during an Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq ceremony at Lok Virsa on Thursday. Khichi stated that Independence Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for freedom and reinforces the commitment to protect the nation’s culture and identity.



Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar, Secretary National Heritage and Culture Asad Rehman Gillani, and Executive Director Lok Virsa Dr. Waqas also attended the event, which commenced with a cake-cutting ceremony. The minister highlighted the importance of unity and sacrifice in safeguarding independence, noting that the nation stands united in its defense.



Khichi toured the photo exhibition and cultural displays dedicated to the Marka-e-Haq and Independence Day, commending the organizers for their efforts. He stressed the significance of Pakistan’s rich cultural history as a core element of national identity. Attendees honored the martyrs of the Pakistan-India conflict and pledged their commitment to national unity and the protection of the country against any threats.
