Minister Stresses Urgent Environmental Action at Islamabad Summit


Islamabad: In a keynote address at the Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environment, Senator Dr. Mussadik Malik, underscored the pressing need for environmental sustainability. Dr. Malik shared his personal journey into environmental advocacy, offering a nostalgic reflection on nature from his childhood.



Dr. Malik described his early experiences with nature, recounting memories of catching fireflies and butterflies and enjoying the clean waters of Lahore. He painted a vivid picture of the past, contrasting it with present environmental challenges, particularly in remote areas impacted by climate change.



Addressing the audience, Dr. Malik questioned the disappearance of wildlife and the diminishing natural beauty in both urban and rural settings. He called for a renewed connection with nature, emphasizing the importance of restoring the environment to its former state.



Highlighting Finland’s leadership in environmental management, Dr. Malik pointed to the country’s advanced standards and technology as a model for global efforts. He stressed the importance of financial resources and international collaboration to achieve meaningful environmental progress.
