Minister Rana Tanveer Advocates for Agricultural Sector to Boost Pakistan’s Exports


Lahore: Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, emphasized the critical role of the agricultural sector in enhancing Pakistan’s export capacity during his speech today at the Expo Centre in Lahore. The minister outlined the government’s initiatives aimed at reforming the energy sector to support agricultural and industrial growth, highlighting these as key to boosting the country’s economic activities and self-sufficiency in food.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Hussain discussed the government’s strategy to increase exports, which he views as essential for accelerating Pakistan’s development process. He also detailed the restructuring of the Utility Stores Corporation, aimed at transforming it into a profitable entity. Hussain underscored that the promotion of the agricultural sector is crucial not only for increasing exports but also for achieving food self-sufficiency in Pakistan, which currently has an export volume of thirty billion dollars, considered low by the minister.



Additionally, Rana Tanveer commended the participation of one hundred Chinese companies at the Expo, noting the importance of their product introductions to the Pakistani market.
