Minister of State for IT Highlights Women’s Crucial Role in Pakistan’s Digital Future

Islamabad, During the keynote session of the Champions of Change Women Leadership Program at Telenor Pakistan’s head office, Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized the transformative role women play in the digital sector, underscoring their essential contribution to economic growth and innovation.

According to Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Minister Khawaja detailed how the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector has revolutionized society and become a cornerstone of economic development. She stressed the necessity of women’s full and equal participation in this digital era, describing it as not only a pursuit of social justice but also a driver of economic advancement.

The Minister highlighted ongoing commitments by the Ministry to enhance gender equality and empower women within the digital landscape. The session also featured remarks from Telenor Pakistan CEO Khurrum Ashfaque, who advocated for digital inclusion and the empowerment of women in leadership roles within the technology sector.
