Islamabad: Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik reiterated the government’s commitment to poverty alleviation, stating that there has been no recent increase in gas tariffs as part of efforts to ease financial burdens on consumers.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a news conference held in Islamabad today, Minister Malik highlighted that the government’s primary focus remains on reducing inflation, alleviating poverty, and enhancing employment opportunities for the youth. He noted that inflation rates are gradually decreasing and emphasized that the execution of development projects, particularly in underdeveloped areas, aims to create job opportunities.
The minister also extended an invitation to opposition parties to collaborate with the government in resolving ongoing issues, signaling an openness to bipartisan cooperation to address the country’s challenges. Additionally, Malik touched on significant reforms, mentioning plans to digitize the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and privatize state-owned enterprises as part of broader economic reform efforts.
