Islamabad: Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, met with the Ambassador of Nepal, H.E. Ms. Rita Dhital, to discuss regional peace and environmental collaboration.
Dr. Malik reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, highlighting its experiences with terrorism and aggression. He emphasized that Pakistan seeks peace from a position of clarity and dignity, cautioning against interpreting this as a weakness.
The discussion touched on recent tensions, with Dr. Malik attributing the escalation to India’s actions. He expressed relief that peace has been restored.
Ambassador Dhital welcomed the de-escalation and praised Pakistan’s role in global climate advocacy. She extended an invitation to Dr. Malik for a regional Climate Dialogue Forum in Nepal, aiming for a collaborative declaration on climate issues.
Both officials underscored the urgency of addressing climate change and pledged to enhance regional cooperation to mitigate its effects.
