Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi addressed the graduating class at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Convocation 2025, congratulating students, faculty, and parents for their achievements.
In his speech, Minister Magsi commended the graduates for their dedication and highlighted NUST’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence. He emphasized the importance of young, visionary individuals leading Pakistan’s future with integrity and purpose.
Magsi urged the graduates to remain focused, continue learning, and transform their ambitions into actionable outcomes. Addressing the role of women in development, he noted that only 16% of Pakistani women enter STEM fields, compared to 30% of NUST’s female graduates. He stressed that national progress depends on women’s active participation in the workforce.
He quoted Fatima Jinnah to reinforce his point, stating, “No nation can rise to the height of glory unless its women are side by side with men.”
Minister Magsi remarked that while Pakistan is progressing, sustainable development requires contributions from all societal segments. He called on the youth to serve with honesty and dedication, emphasizing the nation’s strength lies in the character and unity of its people.
He concluded by encouraging the graduates to have faith in themselves, their country, and a higher power. “Our founders once dreamed this nation into existence. It is now your turn to take it forward with conviction, compassion, and courage,” he said.
