Qingdao: Minister for Power, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, engaged in strategic discussions with senior executives from two major Chinese energy companies, Power China and Energy China, at the Third Belt and Road Ministerial Conference. These talks aimed to bolster energy cooperation between Pakistan and China, exploring new initiatives such as the establishment of a research and development center in Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meetings with Vice-President Yao Huan of Power China and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager Ni Zhen of Energy China focused on enhancing the collaborative energy framework under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The potential establishment of a state-of-the-art R and D center would integrate advanced technologies and practices into Pakistan’s energy sector, marking a significant step in the ongoing cooperation.
Minister Leghari also extended invitations to both Chinese leaders to visit Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of ongoing personal interactions to solidify the future trajectory of their energy partnerships.
