Islamabad: Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, praised engineering students from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) for their innovative projects and commitment to advancing technology in Pakistan.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, the minister met with the students to acknowledge their work on advanced engineering projects, including the development of a Formula One racing car. The students have been working on these projects for over a decade, with each new batch building on the efforts of their predecessors to maintain a continuous flow of research and knowledge transfer.
The students expressed their intent to compete internationally, aiming to participate in events in the UK and other developed nations. They highlighted their improving global rankings and the recognition they have received, including sponsorship from Tesla, which commended the NUST team’s accomplishments.
Minister Khawaja reviewed the Formula One car project firsthand and expressed her admiration for the students’ technical skills. She reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting research and innovation in higher education, emphasizing that such achievements reflect Pakistan’s growing capabilities in technology. She encouraged the students to continue their pioneering work and assured them of continued support as they strive to elevate Pakistan’s presence in the global tech arena.
