Minister for Kashmir Affairs Commemorates ‘Black Day’, Affirms Support for Kashmiri Self-Determination


Islamabad: The Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan issued a statement marking October 27 as ‘Black Day’, a somber commemoration of India’s deployment of forces to Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, which is observed by both Pakistanis and Kashmiris.



According to Press Information Department, the minister recounted the long-standing struggle of the Kashmiri people over the past 77 years, highlighting their resilience and determination to achieve self-determination despite ongoing challenges. The statement condemned India’s actions and human rights record in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), urging India to adhere to United Nations Security Council resolutions and improve the human rights situation in the region. The minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and international commitments.



The message underscores the importance of the issue in Pakistan’s foreign policy and its continued solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle for autonomy and rights.
