Islamabad: Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, highlighted the critical role of technical training in strengthening the capacity of telecom operators during a meeting with Mr. Jia Rong Low, CEO of the Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC), Singapore. The meeting, held in Islamabad, focused on enhancing the skills of telecom professionals in Pakistan through specialized training programs.
According to Press Information Department, APNIC’s CEO briefed the Minister on the organization’s activities and expressed APNIC’s interest in launching a networking training program for Pakistan’s telecom operators. Both parties agreed to develop a comprehensive plan for the training initiative aimed at improving the technical capabilities of telecom operators. The meeting was attended by Secretary IT Zarrar Hasham Khan and Member IT, MoITT Muhammad Jahanzeb Rahim.
In a separate meeting, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Ms. Saqlain Syedah, met with Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja to discuss IT and telecommunications relations between Pakistan and Germany. The discussions included ways to facilitate Pakistani IT companies operating in Germany. Member International Coordination (IC) Imad Memon and DG IC Syed Jawwad Ali Sherazi also participated in the discussions.
