Islamabad: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has instructed officials to locate suitable sites for Model Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and to draft a detailed concept paper for their development. The directive aims to facilitate the relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan while strengthening bilateral cooperation.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the minister emphasized the importance of enhancing government-to-government collaboration with China during a meeting focused on Model-SEZs and the policy framework for industrial relocation. Pakistan plans to provide land for Chinese industries, which will manage the infrastructure and market the zones independently.
