Minister Calls on Scholars to Bolster Peace During Muharram


Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, highlighted the crucial role of Islamic scholars in fostering unity and peace throughout the country, particularly during the sensitive period of Muharram-ul-Haram. During a meeting with prominent scholars and religious leaders at the Council of Islamic Ideology, the Minister underscored the ongoing efforts to eradicate the remnants of extremism and radicalism in Pakistan.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting served as a platform for discussing strategies to reinforce the National Action Plan through the “Azm-e-Istihkam” initiative, aimed at achieving sustained peace across the nation. Dr. Raghib Naeemi, Chairman of the Council, advocated for a specific code of conduct during Muharram to ensure law and order is maintained, reflecting the government’s proactive approach to preventing sectarian strife and enhancing community cohesion during this critical period.
