Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has extended his felicitations to the newly-elected officials of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA), acknowledging their roles as pivotal to the media sector and its impact on democracy.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the minister congratulated Mian Amir Mahmood as the new Chairman, Salman Iqbal as Senior Vice Chairman, Mir Ibrahim Rehman as Vice Chairman, Shakeel Masood as Secretary General, Ahmed Zubairi as Joint Secretary, and Athar Qazi as Finance Secretary. In his statement, Tarar emphasized the media’s role as a crucial pillar of the state, highlighting that a free and dynamic media is essential for the enhancement of democracy and the promotion of democratic values in Pakistan.
Tarar also expressed confidence in the government’s commitment to supporting the independence, growth, and development of media institutions. He voiced optimism that the newly-elected officials would effectively leverage their expertise to advance the media industry and contribute positively to its growth within the nation.
