Islamabad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has extended his congratulations to the newly elected leaders of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), praising the organization for its role in fostering democratic values and journalistic integrity within the country.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the minister’s commendation was directed towards President Irshad Ahmed Arif, Secretary General Ejazul Haque, Senior Vice President Anwar Sajdi, and other officials who were recently elected in the CPNE’s annual elections. Tarar described the CPNE as a guardian of esteemed journalistic traditions and a vital promoter of democracy.
He expressed hope that the new leadership will continue to enhance the quality of journalism and address the needs of the media community. Additionally, Tarar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolving media-related issues and maintaining freedom of expression, a fundamental constitutional right crucial for a robust democracy.
