ISLAMABAD: Measures to curb illegal cigarette production have been initiated, stated Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani. Speaking at an event in Islamabad, the minister announced that raids have been conducted on illicit factories involved in the production of illegal cigarettes.
According to Radio Pakistan, Kayani emphasized the coordinated efforts between federal and provincial governments aimed at preventing the sale of illegal cigarette brands at retail outlets. The initiative reflects a broader strategy to address the issue at both production and distribution levels, highlighting the government’s commitment to tackling illegal trade in the country.
