Islamabad: Minister of State for Finance, Revenue, and Power Ali Pervaiz Malik has emphasized the necessity of implementing drastic economic reforms to ensure long-term stability in the country. In a recent interview, he detailed the government’s plans for rightsizing, privatization, and reducing public spending as key strategies to correct the nation’s economic direction.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Malik discussed the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations by eliminating redundant departments and privatizing state-owned enterprises. He also highlighted initiatives to cut costs, such as reducing the funding for the Public Sector Development Programme and increasing reliance on public-private partnerships.
These measures, as outlined by Malik, are part of a broader strategy intended to enhance efficiency across key economic sectors, aiming to bolster the country’s economic foundation.
