Minister Ahsan Iqbal Stresses Export Growth to Boost Pakistan’s Foreign Reserves

Islamabad, In a bid to strengthen Pakistan’s economic foundation, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has called for a heightened focus on enhancing the country’s exports. His remarks came during a Steering Committee meeting on 5Es, aimed at diversifying and expanding Pakistan’s export base to bolster foreign exchange reserves.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Iqbal outlined an ambitious goal to increase the volume of exports from the current $30 billion to $100 billion within the next eight years. He emphasized the necessity of allocating ample resources towards achieving this significant growth in exports.

Further underscoring the government’s commitment to modernizing the economy, Minister Iqbal highlighted the pivotal role of digitalization as a top priority. This initiative is expected to not only improve governance but also lay the groundwork for an economy driven by technology and innovation.

The Minister also drew attention to the Five Es framework, a comprehensive strategy designed to foster improvements across all sectors of the economy. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts among all ministries to effectively implement this framework, signaling a unified approach towards economic development and stability.
