Minister Affirms Commitment to TAPI Project During Meeting with Turkmen Ambassador


Islamabad, In a significant development regarding the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline (TAPI) project, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik met with the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, H.E. Atadjan Movlamov, to reaffirm Pakistan’s dedication to the project’s completion. The meeting highlighted the continued collaboration and partnership between Pakistan and Turkmenistan in advancing this pivotal energy initiative.



According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Movlamov congratulated Minister Malik on his recent appointment and praised his commitment to the TAPI project. In response, Minister Malik expressed his appreciation for the ambassador’s support and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to seeing the TAPI project through to fruition. He noted that the project had gained significant momentum during his previous tenure, resulting in substantial progress.



The TAPI pipeline, which is expected to be a game-changer for the region’s energy dynamics, aims to transport natural gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan and Pakistan to India. Ambassador Movlamov informed Minister Malik of the upcoming meetings of the intergovernmental commission and working groups scheduled for this year, emphasizing the mutual benefits of the TAPI project for all parties involved.



Furthermore, Ambassador Movlamov extended an invitation to Minister Malik for the energy forum that Turkmenistan will be hosting in Paris, symbolizing the international interest and support for the TAPI project. This meeting underscores both countries’ dedication to enhancing energy cooperation and ensuring the success of the TAPI pipeline, which promises to contribute significantly to regional energy security and economic development.
