Mining Designated a Priority in CPEC’s Next Phase, Says Minister Ahsan Iqbal

Islamabad, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has identified mining as a focal industry in the upcoming phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This announcement was made during a meeting with representatives from Chinese mining company MRDL Saindak, where discussions centered on expanding mining operations in Balochistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Iqbal praised MRDL Saindak for their longstanding contributions to the sector and encouraged the firm to prepare a formal proposal for their latest project’s inclusion in CPEC. The emphasis on mining underscores its perceived potential to contribute significantly to economic development in resource-rich regions like Balochistan.
