Islamabad, August 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Mr. Miftah Ismail held a meeting with delegation of Chambers of Small Traders and Small Industry (CSTSI) headed by group leader Mr. Zafar Iqbal at Finance Division today. Coordinator to the PM on Commerce and Industry Rana Ihsan Afzal, Coordinator to the PM on Economy Mr. Bial Azhar Kayani, Chairman FBR and other senior officers attended the meeting. Group leader Mr. Zafar Iqbal shared with Finance Minister Mr. Miftah Ismail about the contribution and significance of the Chambers of Small Traders and Small Industry in the economy of the country.
He also shared about the various problems being faced by them especially related to sales tax and refunds and imposition of tax on electricity bills. The Finance Minister commended the contribution of this sector in the development of economy and addressed the apprehensions of the traders on the imposition of tax on electricity bills. He further directed the relevant authorities to undertake the required actions to resolve the issues of small traders at earliest time possible. The delegation thanked the Finance Minister for comprehensively listening to their concerns and for stated cooperation.
