Islamabad, A delegation from Meta, the parent company of Facebook, met with the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja to discuss the responsible use of social media platforms in Pakistan. The delegation included Dania Mukhtar, Head of Public Policy for Pakistan at Meta, and Taabeer Ather, Manager Public Policy for Pakistan.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting focused on Meta’s various campaigns in Pakistan aimed at promoting digital safety and literacy. The delegation provided an overview of Meta’s work in the country and highlighted key initiatives, including the Digital Safety Campaign, Election Education Campaign, Anti-Scams Campaign, and Digital Literacy Program.
The Minister of State for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja expressed her appreciation for Meta’s work and assured her full support to the company in its efforts to ensure responsible use of social media platforms. The meeting underscored the importance of digital safety and the role Meta plays in promoting safe online practices in Pakistan.
