Jammu, July 12, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the People’s Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti has reiterated the demand for the restoration of Article 370 and 35-A. Mehbooba Mufti addressing a news conference in Jammu said that Article 370, 35-A, and Domicile Act were not given to Kashmiris by any foreign country. She said, before the nation gave it to us, Maharaja Hari Singh had brought it to protect the identity of the people of Kashmir. She maintained. “We have these laws to be upheld, she added.
Mehbooba Mufti said, after the repeal of these laws, it seems that the only motive behind this was to loot Jammu and Kashmir. “Outsiders are being given top position in Chenab Valley Power Projects, our water and electricity goes out. Our transporters are in trouble. They have to pay toll taxes,” She deplored. She said she will not become chief minister of the territory if eve her party wins elections and comes to power. “There are many leaders in the party who are fit for the post of chief minister, it is not like only Mehbooba Mufti can become the chief minister if the party comes to power,” she added.
She also said after abrogation of Article 370 and 35A nothing has changed in Kashmir in terms of development. She said that after the illegal abrogation of the special status of Kashmir and its conversion into two Union Territories, no progress has been made since then, while the people of Jammu have been most affected by the 05 August decision.
Mehbooba further said that the only purpose of removing 370 was to plunder the resources of Jammu and Kashmir as they have to pay taxes everywhere these days, also the common masses are in trouble. “If the government’s strategy in Kashmir remains the same, I don’t think it will take long for us to become next Gujarat,” she said. To a question she said that if the Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Kashmir strategy was right then how she can be wrong, it is well known that the Kashmir dispute can only be resolved through dialogue.
