Srinagar, Today, Mehbooba Mufti was confirmed as the President of the Peoples Democratic Party in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, marking her fourth consecutive term in the role for a period of three years.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, a party leader involved in the election proceedings mentioned that the re-election took place at the party’s headquarters in Srinagar through a voice vote.
Vice President Abdul Rehman Veeri was the one to propose Mehbooba Mufti’s candidacy for the presidency. This proposal was supported by the party’s general secretary, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura.
It’s notable that the Peoples Democratic Party holds elections for its presidential position every three years, and with this win, Mehbooba Mufti solidifies her leadership role for the fourth successive term.
